Bev – “Anyway, I had to go on it and I went around in a small circle and turned the wheel too sharply. It got jammed and I came down on the concrete. I smashed my forehead and my nose. My glasses dug into the bridge of my nose and I bled profusely.”

Kay – “It is a very scary experience, you know, and I didn’t think it would have knocked my confidence like it did. Because I don’t perceive myself as being vulnerable like that. I had one fall and I think I lost my confidence a lot as well, even though I’m really fit and able person. I go to the gym all the time. I’ve done body building competitions. Invincible? Ahh, not so much, not so much.”

Kay – “That was very confusing, I wasn’t sure what I needed to do to make sure I had everything I needed at home and things like that. If it hadn’t been for my children, I’m not too sure how I would have got through the system. There are lots of things you ned to know and you need to find out and you need to find them out pretty quickly as well.”
